how far is it from Stirling Castle from Wallace's monument?

Not far at all! We stayed in a hotel and could see the monument & castle from our window! Not quite walking distance.. but pretty close! (within a couple miles, I'd guess) In the second link I have below.. you can see the wallace monument just above the cannon in the top picture! That will give you a realistic view of the distance.

We found Stirling Castle a MUCH better castle tour than Edinbaugh Castle. And do NOT miss the Wallace Monument. It has odd hours... and I missed being able to make it to the top... only made it to the display case with Wallace's sword! My husband made it to the top though.
