My favorite recipe for peas is the following.

Put frozen peas in microwave with a teaspoon or so of water, cover w/plastic wrap (leave a space for steam venting) and nuke for a couple minutes (don't cook them until mushy).

Meanwhile, finely dice a 1/2 cup or so of onions, and crush a couple cloves of garlic (depending on your preference for garlic) Heat oil in a skillet until hot, saute the onions until they start to get translucent, throw in garlic and drained peas.

Continue to saute until onions are golden, salt pepper (and use any other spice you like, I prefer parsley and basil) serve.

I love sauted peas! But hate plain old peas.

I toss them into a curried basmati rice. So it's sort of like a pilaf. I think it's the only reason I keep frozen peas in the house.
