I only weigh 84 pounds and I'm going to be 13 in 2 days....I'm supposed to weigh around 100. My stepmom says that I should eat 3 smaller meals (like a sandwich) between breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My mom says its my metabolism.....I dont know who to believe. All's I know is that I'm sick of being so tiny. I look like a 13 year old in height, but not weight. My weight is like a 10 year old.

It's not an eating disorder and it's not what I eat. I can finish all my food, and never gain a pound.....rrrr

Does this make sense?

eating small side meals sounds like a good idea, but actually will increase your metabolism even more. I would be very selective and careful of any advice offered here about diet at your age as you are really on the verge of starting to develop. Keep eating properly, exercising and eat more at dinner time and have a small snack at bedtime. The idea of multiple meals throughout the day is referred to as "grazing" and is an extremely efficient way to utilize calories... eating a large heavy meal at dinner and having a light bedtime snack is NOT an efficient way to burn calories. You need to be very careful of the weight you gain and ensure it is a proper mix of muscle, water, and fat. Women by design need a higher fat percentage than men. I would seriously talk to your doctor or pediatrician and involve your parents or other trusted adult family member about your concern. You might just have to be patient as everyone develops on a different biological timetable. Hope this helps and hang in there :-)

Just keep eating but eat healthy. If you can eat more protein (meat/cheese/eggs) that will help you gain muscle weight rather than putting on fat weight.

You'll get there, you are probably going through a growth spurt and your height is ahead of your weight. It happens to alot of kids & sometimes the other way around. Often they get really fat first & then they start to grow.

I'd like to say be patient but I know that's not what you want to hear right now.
