I did after just a couple of months. Put one of your baby's garments in a load of your clothes. If he doesn't react poorly to it, then you should be okay to use regular detergent.

To be honest, I never used it after the 1st couple of months. None of our children have any sort of sensitivity towards any detergents, soaps, etc... I have always used regular detergent. But I do the extra rinse cycle. I would say that if your child does not have any skin sensitivities, then just use the regular detergent you always do.

Some people never use baby detergent. It's more marketing than anything else. Go ahead and try it and see what happens. If you're worried, you could wash the baby's clothes seperately and give them a second rinse cycle just to be on the safe side.

When your baby shows no signs of allergies to anything. I would start out on All Clear detergent first and work from there. We actually got to where we use it for all our clothing now. Its just a non- scented, non-chemically smelling ALL.

I never used baby detergent. I just use All Free Clear. It doesn't have perfumes or dyes in it, but is less expensive than Dreft.

I didn't stop using it with my son until he was a year old. But he had real sensitive skin. From then on I would just wash all his clothes by themselves and with the least possible detergent to get them clean. My daughter lasted about 6 months and then I would wash her clothes by themselves to. I never mixed any of there clothes with ours cause me and my husbend always had dirty clothes getting jobs.

I never got into the Dreft as much after 3 months old, I would think anytime would be fine.

I bought the biggest bottle of Dreft that they sell at Walmart. Once that was gone I switched to regular (it was the better part of the first year).
