I was with her the entire day and nothing happend to it that i saw. Shes an indoor dog and no one was here to have shut it in a door or anything but i do have 2 cats that play rough with her. Today another dog went to sniff her back end and she yelped just a little. The vet isnt open today or I'd take her in. I checked her tail out and its definatley about four inches from the bottom of her tail thats bothering her. I dont feel a break and she has no problem sitting on it but se isnt wagging it at all. I'm worried the vet. may want to cutthe tip of her tail off! Can they set it? Can it heal without being amputated? I'm also worried that one of the cats may have scratched her and it got infected. I'm taking her to the vet monday morning but until then i don't want her to get sick from it, if that can happen.. anyone know anything i can do in the mean time to help?

putting her tail between her legs means she is afraid that you might hurt her. You are doing the right thing, be with her as much as possible and show her you will not hurt her, eventually she will know you will not hurt her.

Feel better about your dog today? remember to take her to the vet tommorow

If the area is swollen you can try putting some cold compresses on the area. I think she'll be okay until Monday. Don't worry about the vet wanting to amputate the tail. (I assume it's an adult dog.) Because the tail is so vascular (will bleed a lot during surgery), the vet won't attempt to amputate unless absolutely necessary.

Her tail could just be sore, If it is a scratch from the kitty the vet will most likely give it antibiotics. Not too much could seriously be wrong with a tail, so don't worry too much. It's a good Idea to see the vet. Just try to keep her comfy and mabey away from the kitties until then

You can go to Walgreen's or Walmart and get someTriple antibiotic ointment for the areas. Then get some gauze and tape and wrap it up lightly.First you should clean the wounds good maybe even shave around them so you can keep an .eye on them. You can clean with peroxide and alcohol or just dawn and water whatever you have .If you don't think your dog will let you put a bandage on him go to Feed Store and get a SPRAY liquid Bandage.Or Try Pets Mart for the liquid bandage. There are some medicated liquid Bandage meds TLC Stores,Just check around, maybe call around and save gas someone will be able to help you save your dogs tail.He needs his tail for balance.Good Luck!!!Hope I helped you alittle.A bit rambling but too many things popped into my head. There are lots of things you can do if you are willing and he will let you.Good Luck!!!

except he's been spooked via some thing, it might desire to be his anal glands are bothering him. If he smells in any respect fishy lower back there, it relatively is definitely what the difficulty is and it needs checking via your vet. he will convey what's interior the glands and reckoning on what comes out, will possibly ought to handle with antibiotics. for this reason it relatively is often ultimate to have a vet do this, quite than a groomer, who will in basic terms empty the glands. those glands are fragrance glands, and convey in basic terms a small volume of fluid with each wide-spread stool passing. for the duration of bouts of looseness, they are in a position to grow to be clogged, and consistent with hazard contaminated and that's darned uncomfortable for the dogs. they are no longer meant to be empty, so whether emptied, they're going to replenish, and if issues are no longer working extraordinary, the comparable element will proceed to take place. on the different hand, is he abld to hold his tail up in any respect - wagging it? He would have had an injury, or consistent with hazard has what's stated as chilly, or lifeless tail which seems to take place in the event that they're bathed in chilly climate. now and lower back my hounds have suffered with this - the tail is going up approximately 2 inches from the set-on, and then hangs lifeless, particularly situations it style of feels to be painful, and particularly situations no longer. it often returns to wide-spread over 40 8 hours. If this is going on, see your vet as he can sense for a swelling interior the tail, which we will not!

im not sure if they can set it but dont feel bad if they have to amputate its tail (which im sure they wont if you cant even tell if it is a scratch or a breakl) because whatever your vet does will probably be the best thing for your dog.
