It would definately help as Diet Mountain Dew does not contain Sugar like Regular Mountain Dew does.

While good in theory, its bad in practice. Diet soda really is not any better for you than regular soda.... if you can pronounce any of the sweeteners used in diet soda, then I am wrong.
Drinking water instead of soda will quench your thirst and hydrate your body much more effectively. This in turn allows you to metabolize stored calories without processing new calories in a more efficient and effective manner. Moderation is the key to any successful, healthy diet. You can in fact drink regular Mtn. Dew while dieting, just not 3 or 4 a day. Eating and drinking sensible quantities of food and reducing portion sizes will aide in weight loss than changing just your soda habits. I've lost 22#'s since January first of this year by eating better, walking regularly and improving my sleep schedule as well. Hope this helps and good luck reaching your goals!! :-)

there was a study done recently, and i looked for it, i really realy did, because i would have posted the link for you, but it proved that something about the structure of sugars and things in diet soda, its more likely to make you fat, than actually serve its "diet" purpose. your best off not drinking soda at all. or, if you cant manage cutting it out entirely, cut it out as much as possible. every year for lent i cut out soda entirely, and i usually loose about five pounds if im lucky. there are lots of good teas and juices out there that not only taste good but serve a health purpose as well, so if your worried about not being able to get your caffiene buzz, these juices might be good to look at. they are called Fuze and can usually be found next to the sodas and snapple type drinks. they come on a number of flavors, and do things like give you energy, or detoxify your system a little. there is actually one called Slenderize made by Fuze that is supposed to help you loose weight. check it out! hope this helps, i got a little more long winded than i intended.

Depending on your gender and age, 3 cans of regular pop could make up nearly half of your daily reccomended calories.
Switching to diet pop won't make you magically lose weight, but it would be a good start.
Better yet, try Fuze health drinks. Low calorie and high in weight loss and energy inducing vitamins.

No doubt about it! Regular soda has LOTS of calories and sugar. I know one girl who lost 30 lbs over a few months just by stopping her 5 soda per day habit.

You would be consuming fewer calories, but, it is best to give up sodas all together. The artificial sweeteners are not good for you. You also still have a sweet taste that can trigger you to eat more sweets.
Drink WATER!
