I get tired of all these people who parrot religious beliefs and they haven't done an ounce of research themselves. They take what they learn from weekly church services, and suddenly they think they are the crowning expert in their religion.

If you really think about it (and you'll need to step back and take it all in), religion (esp. Christianity) just sounds like a crock of poo. I mean, come on, people! You believe that all of creation was poofed into existence by a giant invisible being (where did he come from?). Then, he got petty enough to insist that Adam and Eve didn't eat from one tree. After casting them out of the Garden of Eden, he became really petty and started insisting on sacrifices so people could prove their love for him. It gets even worse...throughout the Old Testament, God is portrayed as a small minded, petty soul who is just looking for an excuse to bring down his wrath. The New Testament doesn't get much better, because supposedly, God got tired of his rules, and created a son to change them all. If God is truly infallible, why the need to change the rules? Of course, there's the Christian belief that if you live a good life, you will get poofed (I love that word) up to heaven, where you will live forever, while the "bad" people (like your neighbor who borrowed your tools and never returned them) will burn forever in hell. Here's what I think...

I think that religion was invented by early man as an explanation for things he could not understand or comprehend. Now that we have science, what do we need religion for?

Also, I have a problem with all those Christians who would use their religion as their own personal battering ram. You know who I'm talking about...the one who hasn't done a moral thing since the first grade, but the second you do something they think is wrong, they will throw the Bible at you! The majority of Christians fall into that category.

Thanks for letting me vent...

My beef is that although most religions have a "core" of truth and contain wisdom....eventually they all get obscured and overladen with dogma and ritual which ultimately proclaims their religion the only true religion. All religions eventually "if successful" turn into businesses and ways to control and divide society into different camps. One has to remember there are two main dimensions to religion ( dogmatic and spiritual )
Christialnity for instance has been perverted from the beginning and the original teachings of Jesus ( a spiritual master) have been corrupted and changed to suit the needs of the church. The true teachings of Jesus are quite different than almost all Christains believe.

I have no beef with religion...I just wish people would accept the FACT that their way is not the ONLY way and leave others and their beliefs ALONE!!!!
Seriously....God/Gods did not, at any point, decree that we should go bash anyone for how they believe.
If you ask me, I REALLY think doing so is an ATROCITY against ALL the religious teachings, and a SIN!!!
How often on here do I have to post...JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED!!!???????
Religion is about having faith (I do and non Christian) and it's PERSONAL...between me and MY Gods

All "religion" is man invented... it is man trying to control... by making up gods... and then trying to intimidate others into following what the supposed god, or gods, decree. Often at the point of a sword.

The True Christian Faith is the only belief system on earth not a man invented "religion"... and man has tried for centuries to take controle of Christian Faith as well... but none have ever compleatly succeeded... though many are still being deceived by men mis representing themselves as "christian"... the roman catholics tried to take control at the point of the sword as failed... the Christian Faith can not be spread at the point of the sword... God will not allow it.

The HolyBook itself: A lot of books which date all the way back to the dawn of ancient Eygpt were taken out of this book, specifically to make todays' generation of American people become less spiritual and more sinful. There were many wars waged against certain races of people to hide the noble truth: That {JESUSCHRIST} was actually a genetically mixed seed coming from a mixed breed of extraordinary calibur cultrualistic people, in other words, that was the basis of Gods' great plan all along: To bring every race of people together through one mixed seed. I like to call that baby {EVALATION}

specifically, its the literal approach to Christianity that bothers me. It is an eastern religion that uses stories to communicate values and the like...it's more mystical than anything else and after Luther began basing things on idealogy, the western version of the whole faith became altered from its original form.

So many of the pastors, preachers etc. keep forgetting that all humans can and will make mistakes. The majority of churches dont teach tolerance or compassion.

Its not the religion, its the followers. And its because they try to stop progress and tend to treat other people like dirt (but don't think they do).
