To update windows go to Control Panel and locate icon for Windows Update. Click on icon and check box for "Recommended" updates if not already checked. You can change recommended date, but I just left as updates are done behind any program running without your input. You may get a small pop up in right hand corner as you face PC that will tell you update done. Mine is done once a week.

do a windows update or go to the microsoft.com and click downloads tab. You should be able to see internet explorer.
