Well, science is necessary because lots of jobs involve science skills. Even if you're not going to go into a science based field, it's still good to know some so that you can be educated and so that you can broaden your range of knowledge. Science is what is used to explain many things we observe in daily life. Science can explain why lightbulbs work, why ice melts, how a microwave oven works, science even goes into the production of beauty/hair products. Science is a very important field and is involved in many many things we experience every day. Science can explain why my computer is running and how I can communicate with you! ^_^ Why do you think it's pointless? Like, I'm just trying to understand why you think science is useless.

Also, children should not choose what they want because we all know that most children now do not think of the consequences ahead of time and do whatever makes them feel good, or whatever they want, which usually does not have the best results. If children were allowed to choose, they probably wouldn't choose any academic classes!

Are you saying you think science is pointless because you are struggling in it? (It's a common response...) Because if you are, I can help you. ^_^ I'm currently in high school and I have a good GPA.

Anyway, I hope I helped answer your question. If you want to contact me my e-mail adress is anu_dew2000@yahoo.com

To understand the world around you. It's one of man's greatest acheivements that they CAN do this, and for a child to learn it should be a priority in their education. Furthermore, how could you have doctors without science?

There are so many benefits to learning about science.

It's not pointless it is the only right thing!!!

It tickles your mind, it makes you use the real power you have- your brain. It makes you evolve as a human being!!

And personally I am no math fan and I hated it in school but I am greatful that it thought be how to think and use my brain.

Having to take a science class isn't as pointless as having to take a speech class in college. Yeah, speech is a required class. There's something for you to look forward to in college! =)

Ok, what would be in school then.

You don't know what you want to do when you grow up, and even if you did by not taking the "other" classes you are basically grounding yourself to be a drone bee. Go live in Soviet Russia if you want to be prepped for a career from birth.

In Soviet Russa, Job Works you.

The understanding of our world, the way it works, and how we relate to it is imperative to our education. If we went through life ignorant of the science, we could be handed anything as fact.

If you only learn and listen to the things that interest you at that time, you would grow up with a very limited scope of the world and would basically be ignorant.
