are so sure that us believers are crazy in believing in God? If I as a believer am wrong(which I am not) what is the worst that can happen to us believers in the end? Now if you non-believers are wrong(which you are) what is the worst that can happen to you at the end of time? Seriously, I don't understand why a lot of non-believers think we the believers are crazy. What is it that us believers can do to help you non-believers?

Many will turn from God, many will not even acknowledge God is real. We as believers can't do anything to show them God is indeed the God of all creation. We can't help those that are so closed minded. Only the Holy Spirit can show them their errors. We are instruments, vessels, or tools used to help non believers see the LIGHT and eat from the Tree of Life. Let them think we are crazy, we know where our salvation lays, its in Christ Jesus, God of the Flesh, the Son of God, and God.

Here's a better question. Why can't people just accept what other people choose to believe? Why do so many people insist on arguing their beliefs to those who have a different opinion? Your not crazy, their not crazy. We all just believe what our own hearts tell us is true. And argue and bicker about it because our pride is so intent we have to try to convince others that we are right! For a world driven by succeeding and getting far in life, you'd think we would be smart enough to know this is a pointless arguement. No one will know the answer for sure until their dead. And nobody believes those who've been there and come back. So we will all just figure out the answer to the age old 'correct religion' when we're dead and face it head on. Don't argue with the close minded. Discuss with the open minded.

I an an atheist, I don't lump together all people who have a religion and believe in a god or gods, and say 'they are all crazy'. You state that those who have no belief as far as gods go are all wrong and that you are right. What makes you so certain, have you met a god, or had a personal spoken message from him/her/it? No? How then can you be so sure? I will tell you the truth, there are no gods or demons. This does not mean we should not have principles or that we should not care for others. The way you can help me, is to stop assuming that you are right and that all others are wrong.

I am a Non-Christian, which I am assuming you mean when you say Non-Believer. As far as being wrong or right, I don't think posting in a forum "I am not wrong, but you are" proves much at all. I don't think you are crazy. But I don't think you fully understand what you are saying.... First off, Hell, as Christianity has presented it to us... is NOT unique to Christianity at all. The Greek of the New Test called it Hades, which is directly from Greek Myth. That would be Paganism. ALL Pagan Religions had a form of "Hell". So, if you are a Christian (as I said earlier, I'm assuming that much based on how you have posted this question) and you are wrong.... you may end up in some Pagan Hell instead.

There is nothing you can do to help a Non-Believer. Posts like this normally push a person away as it usually appears to be just as arrogant as the people they are complaining about.

Unfortunately, believers have some "crazy" brothers, in the form of snake-handling, kool-aid drinking Christians, airplane-hijacking, hostage-beheading Muslims, and sit-there-and-burn-to-death Buddhists.

It's an unfortunate human tendency to lump people together in groups as a shortcut to understanding life. We like a quick way to assess people, so we look at a primary characteristic and say, "Oh, a Christian; that means he'll think and act like this..."

You'll never prevent some people from thinking that way initially, but you can help them treat the next believer better by being a decent, non-crazy person. People believe actions much more than they believe words. That's why Muslims are under the gun today, because in spite of the "Islam is a religion of peace" rhetoric, we see every day angry people throwing rocks, demanding violence, and killing people.

(Likewise Christians were in pretty much this mode a couple of centuries ago!)

Most people simply don't want to be lectured in any form. Having your own belief system is fine, but keep it to yourself, unless somebody asks about it. It's really just simple courtesy. (But then, some religions DEMAND that you go out and try to force people to think your way, thus exacerbating the "they think we're all crazy" mindset...)

The first time I went to a church where people weren't hypocritical, nutty, holier-than-thou zealots, I was amazed! What? You mean Christians can be nice, normal people? Wow!

Live an example. Set a trend.

Pascal's Wager...again.

"If I as a believer am wrong(which I am not) what is the worst that can happen to us believers in the end?"

You can die and go to the pearly gates, at which point Lord Brahma sentences you to live your next life as a dung beetle for not following your dharma... or the God you currently worship could damn you to eternal suffering because you were never baptised in the New Reformed Evangelical Church of the Cross of Calgary... or you could die and realize, moments before you slip into blackness, that it was all a lie, and you wasted the only chance of finding the truth that you're ever going to get...

The list of possibilities is infinite.

You forget that there ARE other choices besides Christian and atheist, yet you have neglected ALL of them to justify your choice of belief. I'd say that's a least a little short-sighted, if not exactly crazy.

Could it possibly have something to due with most believer's attitudes being nearly 180 degrees oposite those of Christ himself? I'm not taliking about Paul but the man himself.

The one who excluded no one in his congregation, including prostitutes. The guy who pretty much invented comunist ideas? The guy that told hypocrites off for being hypocrites.

You see, belivevers are linked with the ilk of people like Jerry Fallwell, Rush Limbaugh, W, Jim Baker, Rev Phelps. These are people that represent Christ as much as Hitler represented peace and love.

Your little parentheticle statement "Now if you non-believers are wrong (which you are)" ticked me off. What the hell makes you so damn sure you are right? I don't even know that I am right!!! But "believers" like you go around telling me you are right. Based on what. A thousand year old collection of books, put into one by a currupt king, and re-written by monks in the service of the king?

You gotta really examine what you beleive in.

I believe there is one God. Christ may have been that one God incarnate, but I have no definable proof other than what is in the Bible, which I am sorry, considering it has been touched by the hand of man, I cannot trust implicety.

People who believe in no religion or spirituality are turned off by everything to do with it. Its not their fault, thats just how they feel. Its very hard to change someone's views on religion and spirituality when they've stuck with one belief for soooo long, like not believing in ANYTHING.
They think we're crazy because think there is no proof of the existence of anything of the Divine (Jesus, God, Allah - all different names for the same being).
I have argued with atheists before, and hopefully they will come to understand that the LIFE force that pushes this planet is an immense and powerful energy, and it is there, and people can FEEL IT, NO MATTER WHAT HOW YOU NAME IT OR DESCRIBE IT.

Let people do as they wish. Do not try to sway someone one way or another, just tell them how YOU feel personally, and hopefully that may change their mind, and if it doesn't, then so be it!

Live be example is the most important thing that you should do, and do not put down the non believers. The way you phrase you questions make you as bad as the people who have a moan about believers.
None believers have the right not to believe in God & God gave man the freedom of chose.
Judge not or be Judged!

I agree, that you are not crazy. I think that it is human nature to want to believe in something bigger, something better, and hope that we are to eternally go on forever. Fine, and you are correct, if you are the one who is right in the end, more power to ya. I just don't believe that god exist. I don't understand how you, as a human being, can not and refuse to step outside your paradigm of reality to think how another person might feel. Listen to them, and say, is that logical that they would feel that way. I think it is totally logical that somebody would be religious, given the human necessity for the survival of themselves, cultural background, familial background and personal life experiences, and also, what they have not learned yet. No two people on the face of the planet have had the same experiences, at all, completely the same, once you realize that, you realize ever human decision to believe what they do makes sense.

Leave us alone, get on with your own life and beliefs and mind your own business. Why is everyone so hell bent on convincing others that their point of view is right. We all have a 50/50 chance of being in the right camp. There is nothing that a believer can do to "help" a non-believer. Perhaps if you were less patronising people may be more open to listen. You believe in somethng that cannot be proved. What can I do to help you understand that you are following something made up by men a few thousand years ago. Believe it as you wish - it makes no difference to me but please, keep your beliefs to yourself and leave the rest of us to live our own lives. And by the way, I think your crazy because you allow others to tellyou what is true and what is not. I test everything for myself - if it works for me in my universe it is true.
