I have 2 girls aged 11 months and a boy aged 9 months. They are out all day and in at night, but don't tend to use the tray at night.
Can anyone give any suggestions?

We have emptied the litter tray and put a bit of it outside, but they still come back in to go to the toilet. I am a bit worried about just removing the tray suddenly, although i could just put it down at night time when they are in.

Help !!!?

Thanks!

MAYBE KEEPING THEM OUT IN THE DAY WITH NO ACCESS TO THE INSIDE LITTER BOX. THEN THEY HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE. BUT DO IT GRADUALLY OVER A PERIOD OF 2 WEEKS. LIKE ACCESS ONE DAY BUT NONE FOR 2 DAYS. AND SO ON AND PRETTY SOON THEY'LL REALIZE THEY CAN'T ALWAYS DEPEND ON THE INSIDE LITTER BOX

Cats don't have to be outside at night, that is a personal choice, but do take note cats are nocturnal. My window is open to my room so they can come and go as they please. In winter though they do sleep inside as it does get too cold for the window to be open. As for the litter tray, take the whole tray outside during the day. Kittens generally go anywhere, anytime so the big thing here is please be patient but it will come right. I've had many cats in my life and that's how I've always done it. Good luck.

It depends if you live in a state with cold winter climates, but they may not go outside at night because it's too cold. If they have the option I'm not surprised they stay inside at night.

keep the cats outdoors all the time, cats live outdoors all year round.
Fix them a hayhouse round back and let them use the woods to use it.
