Christians get in trouble when they try and incorporate what people think (science) into the Bible.

Then when new evidence that the old scientific concept is wrong, Christians are reluctant to accept it because it has become part of their dogma.

Until the 1840's, Christians believed in a young world creation.
But then came along the theory of evolution and carbon dating.
They said that the earth was millions of years old (now billions).
To compensate for this, Christians came up with the "gap theory" in Genesis ch 1 to make every thing just fine.

Now evolution says that man came millions of years after the dinosaurs. But there are places around the world were there are human and dinosaur footprints in the same rock.

Many Christians are still clinging to the gap theory and not going back to what the Bible says.
Many Atheists just say that those human shaped footprints that have 10 toes and are wearing moccasins are just a dinosaur footprint or that they are not real. (How come no one ever says that dinosaurs could make things?).

People believe what they are told to believe, not what is supported by facts.
