Find you a good Southern man. We teach our men in the South that they are to be gentlemen, love their families, work hard and provide for them, and to be the head of their household! Everything rises and falls on "leadership", so we teach them to be good leaders.

It's just as hard to find a woman who understands the man should be the head of the household. Are you saying women should not be independent thinkers? That whatever the man says, goes? Women don't think that way anymore and neither do most guys. We want a woman who can make her own decisions but will support us when we set our foot down on family based decisions. That's the head of a household.

I don't know. Maybe because this is 2007 and we came along way with equal rights? In a feminist perspective, the guy is no longer the patriarch of the family. Sometimes the female is the bread winner.
Just my cents. But if you want the man to be the head of the household, maybe you need to up your expectations of a man when dating. Don't lower your standards for no one.

It's 2007 - the man is no longer automatically the head of household. You might find some old-fashioned chauvinists if you look hard enough though....

A lot of times, now days, men are taking longer to grow up and accept responsibility. Divorce is common now or men are having trouble with commitment.
I blame the generations of the 60's and 70's because everyone started questioning morals. Fathers started leaving their families which is no example for this generation of boys who grew up to be men and no longer have any backbone.
Now, it's all about," If it feels good, do it. Anything goes. What is normal anyway?"

Women's equality and feminism basically emasculated many modern men. What politically correct women's right to be equal to men in every way turned out to be a double edge sword, Now we have to work inside the home AND earn a living.
