Microsoft Word line spacing?

When I open my MS-Word, Doc.1 is commin up on my screen. On Doc.1 anytime when I push RETURN the coursor advances down approx. 20 line spaces at once instead of one only line space at the time.
How can I correct that automatic "line space jumping"?

If it happens every time, you must have messed up the MS template, normal.dot.

Open a new Word document.
Set the margins you use most of the time.

Click Format
click Paragraph
look to the right, see spacing? Select single, where it says "at" type 1.
That will set single line spacing to one.

Now, click Format
cl Font
select the font you use most of the time.

Look to the bottom, left.
click "set as default"
When asked if you want to change the normal.dot, say Yes.

When you open a new Word document, it should reflect these changes.

Change the settings. Click on Format menu, then go the paragraph. There you will find the line spacing. I guess this will solve your problem
