After reading your question (twice) I think that you should continue your daily exercise. It's a terrific LIFESTYLE habit to be in and will be a tremendous asset to your health to continue to exercise throughout your lifetime.

NO..... lifting weights WILL NOT cause your height to diminish... whoever told you this is grossly misinformed. You should be cautioned that your body is still developing and proper technique and lifting schedules/recovery time are essential.... consult with a trainer or your doctor, or see if a local gym can offer credible guidance and advice.

The eggwhites sound like a personal dietary preference. Eat a balanced diet rich in protein, starch, vegetables, fruits and some fats. Your body needs all of these things to function properly, consume them in moderation. Eating lots of protein in the form of egg whites will help in the development of muscle tissue, yet you need to watch your cooking medium and habits... are you frying them, use of salt??? At your age, eat a variety of foods and avoid soda, and even gatorade (which contains the same sugar as soda).

You don't want to become fat. Period. A thicker more muscular build is and will be desirable, you might not have finished growing into your body at 16 years old though. A potential way to do this would be getting a part time job or summer job at a tent rental company, apprenticing for a contractor or landscaper. These are typically physically demanding jobs that will build muscle and the other benefit is that you will be paid at the same time.

Chest, abs, biceps... keep exercising, eat right, and maybe that part time job will aide in these areas as well. Remember that you are still young (relative to me... I'm 31) and it might naturally take another 2-4 years for your body to finish puberty. My personal experience was that I was always tall, medium build until I went to college and filled out after 3 months. I became heavier through poor diet and drinking habits, but my shoulders became broader and more muscular naturally. I also work in construction in which the lifting and manual labor helped me develop. After I stopped my poor diet and drinking habits, I lost the majority of the fat and undesirable weight and have a thick muscular build.

Everyone develops differently, keep doing what you are doing and be patient. Hope this helps some and good luck.

First off, lifting weights will not reduce your height. I don't know why you eat 4-5 egg whites a day but I don't think it's doing any harm.

So you want to gain mass? Get on a weight training program. Does your school have a weight training class? I would suggest joining that.

To improve your chest do bench press or push-ups, since they both work primarily your chest, as well as your triceps. For abs simply do crunches and for biceps, bicep curls.

It's kinda hard for guys who are naturally thin to put on muscle. Your fighting against your genetics, because when you stop lifting for a time, you'll lose muscle weight...fast. I'd give you tips on my muscle-building routine, but I'm naturally stocky and I don't need to lift as much to have muscle that shows. Sorry, dude.
