Hubby hates chicken, we're all tired of tex-mex, one of the kids won't eat soup.

We have pizza one night every week, spaghetti, hot dogs, and hamburgers way too often. I'd personally like Manwich a bit more often but hubby hates it. I feel like my options are exhausted. What can I try that'll make supper interesing again?

I gave you a star, as you were so honest about running out of ideas, it can happen very easily, so don't whip yourself for it....I highly recommend that you go to both the Kraft, Campbells, and Pillsbury websites and sign up as a member, and they'll send you great recipes in you email every week.........I have made some great dishes, or re-vamped some dishes with a little tweaking........these companies do, of course recommend that you use their products (gee, imagine that!!) , but all the recipes are free and they let you keep a recipe box on their website, that you can access anytime you're in a quandry RE: what's for dinner??? I used to have that problem, then during my breaks at work, I would look up the recipes, and print them out and then prepare them............Kraft even has a service that they send you a wonderful magazine, free of charge like 6 times a year, and on their website, you can compile a shopping list of and for the ingredients that you'll need for a recipe that you're interested in.....Hope this helps, and Enjoy!!!

I love the crockpot. One of my favorites is take a bottom round roast, add a large can (or 3 small cans) Cream of Mushroom Soup, add a package of dry Lipton onion soup mix. Cook on low 8 hours and it's ready. We usually make boil in bag rice with it and use the roast sauce as gravy, or you can add potatoes and carrots, whatever.
I also like pot pie, maybe turkey. Add some cream of chicken soup and frozen or canned veggies and warm on stove. Add to baking dish and cover with frozen biscuits. Cook at 375 for about half an hour or so, whenever the biscuits are done.
A third option is tuna casserole. Mix tuna, peas and cream of mushroom soup and tuna in a skillet. Add cooked pasta noodles and you have a nutritious meal.
You can also try breakfast for dinner. We have it about once a month. We make eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, and toast for dinner. It seems like most mornings we run out the door with cereal or less. This gives us a chance to enjoy breakfast.
There's other variations you can try on your favorite meals. When doing pizza do a homemade pizza and let the kids pick out and make their own pizza. Instead of the same spaghetti try making it with meat sauce one meal, sausage/ ground beef meatballs another, and italian sausage a third. Instead of just hot dogs try chili dogs or pork and beans.

Best of luck to you. We seem to get in ruts of having the same things all the time too.

Here are two of my favorite things to cook

Stuffed Pork Chops

1 pkg stuffing mix
6 (1 inch) thick pork chops (with pocket cut for stuffing)

Prepare stuffing mix. Fill pork chop pockets with stuffing. Sprinkle with salt & pepper. Arrange chops in 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake 60 minutes at 350 or until cooked through. Bake any remaining stuffing in a casserole for 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings.

Serve with mashed potatoes and gravy and a veggie. My hubby always wants green beans. I also like cranberry sauce with this dish.

Or how about a nice Beef Stroganoff?

2 lbs. boneless chuck steak or round steak
1 pkg broad egg noodles
1 or 2 cubes beef bouillon
1 medium to large onion
1 jar of whole button mushrooms or 1 pkg fresh
1 C. sour cream
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp pepper
1 bay leaf
1/2 c. dry red wine (optional but delicious. Makes it rich.)
2 Tbls. cooking oil
1 Tbl. flour
1/2 c. water

Cut the meat into 1 or 2 inch strips. Saute in deep oiled pan or dutch oven until browned. Add 2 cups water, the water from the mushrooms, if using jarred mushrooms, bouillon, thyme, bay leaf, & pepper. Cover and cook for about an 1 hour, stirring occasionally and checking liquid level. Add water, if necessary. Slice onion into rings. Add onion, mushrooms and red wine to pan and cook an additional 1/2 hour to 45 mins, till onions are soft or dissolved and meat is fork tender. Make sure you have a decent amount of liquid in the pan, since you are making a nice sauce. Add more water if necessary. Add flour to 1/2 c. water and mix well. Slowly stir into pan to make a gravy. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Serve over egg noodles.

I taste this as I go and add more thyme or pepper or bouillon. The gravy and sour cream will dilute your spices. Make sure it tastes nice and rich and oniony before adding the flour water & sour cream.

Try a nice "homey" meal like Meatloaf, with mashed potatoes and a veggie. Or a Pot Roast with carrots and potatoes...I have a really good, simple crock pot recipe that is a never fail favorite in my family.

Other ideas are subs (cold cuts, or steak-ums, or meatball) homemade chicken (or beef since your husband hates chicken) pot pie using frozen shells, Fajitas using steak and chicken (I season the meat while cooking with salt, pepper, garlic, and worcestershire sauce) served with canned corn, cheese, salsa (or diced tomatoes), fried onions and green peppers to use as toppings. Then we also have salsa, cheese dip, tortilla chips for a side dish with that.

Make lasagne or stuffed shells.

Make stuffed pork chops.

Make steaks.

Make tater tot casserole:
Cook cut up 2 pounds of meat.
Mix with a can of campbell's condensed cream soup (mushroom, cheese, onion, etc), and a can full of milk or broth.
Sprinkle with frozen mixed veggies, then put tater tots all over the top.

Bake 45 minutes at 350, then top with cheese and bake 5 minutes more. Yummy!

Roast leg of lamb with roast potatoes, parsnips, green vegetables ... make a shepherd's pie with the left-over lamb.

Bake salmon fillets in foil (20-25 minutes in the oven) and save one or two to make salmon fishcakes - secret of good salmon fishcakes is some chopped hard-boiled egg and capers.

Boiled beef and carrots (done in the crockpot if you have one) with suet dumplings.

Kedgeree ... rice, flaked smoked haddock, curry powder, butter, sultanas, garnish with hardboiled eggs.

Salmon loaf, linguini carbonara, giant pasta bakes, marinated pork loins, homemade mac & cheese, risotto, fried polenta, stir-fry, corned beef brisket, gyros instead of tacos, biscuits and sausage gravy (yes it can be dinner!), fully loaded omelettes, Swedish meatballs over egg noodles or rice. The possibilites are endless!

Good luck, my husband is picky too. :)
