This question is part of a logic chain i'm following based on some stock philosophy answers.

Why did God make evil? Because you can not have good without evil. Why did God not make it so that you -could- have good without evil? To allow free will. Why did God not make it so that evil didn't exist and yet free will still did?

If He is omnipotent and omniscient, this should be a trivial feat for Him. Just because we can not conceive of how such a universe could exist, that is no limit to Him.

You can have good without evil. What makes you think you can't?
However when people have free will they can decide to do what's wrong.
God didn't create evil instead one of his angels decided to do what was wrong.
God wants a world of people who choose to do what's good.
