Something in the Bible about women preaching being an abomination - that probably doesn't help them become priests - which is the first step on the path to the job of Pope.

The closest thing to a woman pope is a Mother Superor. My guess it's b/c men think woman can't be Priests and invented some stupid rules to keep woman from having power in the church.

There have been... the men of the dark ages did away with that and pathologized women as witches and the downfall of mankind.

To this day... the avenue where the last female pope walked (when she was killed) is avoided by current papal processions as tainted.

Edit: The history channel has a nice program where they worked with vatican historians to tell the story of early women in the priesthood, and the last female pope.

This information is available through the vatican itself.

Because men made the rules and churches. I don't think God had ever said anything about women being inferior. They made the rules so that we have to respect only men! I don't like this situation and I have discussed it with my mates a lot of times. I'm a Christian but this should change someday.

Cos in the hierarchy of the church, according to the bible, the responsibility for any group, be it a family, a church etc lies with the man. Women have other responsibilities. It doesnt answer questions about single parent families, matriarchial societies etc I know, but thats not what you asked

The Pope is an ordained bishop and currently women cannot be ordained.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church currently states:

The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry.

The Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible.

With love in Christ.

It is the domination theory. Catholics misread the Adam and Eve theory of the rib. Catholics believe every woman is made from a male rib. They also believe the rib is from a cheaper cut.

Good Q
Good luck
