Time is precious to a child.Getting involved with your children and taking them places is a good way to communicate with your children. My little girl was quite naughty last week. I decided I would take her to the park and I asked her why she had been behaving this way. while having this one on one time with her she opened up to me.I explained to her that it makes me happy when she is a good girl.I also explained to her if any thing ever annoys her its best to tell mum and we can fix it.It doesnt do any good to misbehave as it just upsets us all..Ive noticed a big improvement this week..were going out tomorrow so we will have another litle chat about how she feels about things.

I think I might have taken than out anyway, the fresh air and family time would have been worth it, but I would have told them to sit with me, and lets chat, and it their behavior changed, then they could go play, as long as they were doing as they were asked. You did`nt say what type adult, so I am assuming another mother? you could post notices on community bulletin boards, like craigslist, asking if any other mothers and her kids would like to spend time with you and your children at say a park, a couple times a week, after a bit, when you both decide you liked hanging together, take turns going to each others homes where the kids can play, and you can have adult company. and maybe try to get more mothers involved, might be fun. If im wrong and ou need male company, just takes the kids to the park, sit at a table, open a magazine, and wait, men are so predictable, you won`t be alone more than 10 minutes.

49 degrees?? I wish!! It's 21 where I live and gets down to the single digits at night. I agree with some of the previous answers....take the kids out. Play in your yard, go to the park, the library, just for a walk in a stroller or wagon....something. They have energy that they want to burn!

It is a gorgeous day and I am sure there will be plenty of parents and children at the park, get outside and meet some new people, it sounds like your circle could use expanding. This would be good to burn energy off of the kids, get exercise and fresh air, and you could socialize.

The children are probably restless. Get them outside for some exercise. They won't act up as much once they burn off some energy.

What about a friend? You could take the kids to the park or to a playground and bring a picnic lunch. The kids will run out all their energy and you could hang out with your friend while you watch them.

Is there a McDonalds or Burgar King nearby. When it's too cold and my kids are restless I just take them to one of those places, get some "happy food" and let them run. They love it and it gets them fed to. Good luck

They might be getting cabin fever? If you have a backyard, take them out there with a ball, or if there is snow on the ground (Like it is here) a sled. Let them run rampant and wear themselves out.
