Canada is kinda big. In April/May it may be winter in one area and an early summer in another. So you need to be more specific. As far as obtaining non-vegitarian meals - most provinces allow moose hunting during April. Seriously, no matter where you'll go there is always an assortment of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Have fun.

Hi,
It's all going to really depend upon where you're going in regard to clothing. Visit Canada's government sites below to learn what visitors need to know when coming to Canada.
Additionally, be careful about the foods you bring in because many will not be allowed past customs. For example soft skinned fruit, oranges and lemons are items that I know for sure can't pass through customs, as well as many other things. Be sure to check because customs will seize items not allowed for entry and throw them away. Check the site for updates.
Also, make sure that you have the proper ID necessary, that you have a place to stay and that you know the length of time that you will be visiting. Custom's agents will most likely ask you all of these things as well as what you do for a living, whether you have a return trip ticket and how much money you are traveling with. (They just want to be assured that you're not planning to live here, that you have ties to where you're from and that you have enough money to live on for your visit).
Don't worry though, Canadian customs agents are generally very friendly and going through customs is usually a very quick and easy process.
