i know this does not exactly answer your question, but you can also get pedegree dogs from animal shelters ,these are mostly animals abandoned by their owners. They may not be able to look after the dogs for want of money to feed it,or because they do not have the time to take care of it. Large breeds are sometime taken up when they are puppies. The costs can varies alot!!! It depends on what kind of Golden Retriever you want. There are American Standards, British, British Blends, and Nordics! Color can range from cinnamon to almost white. Depending on which kind of Golden you want.
An American standard with papers and no champions in their line can start at 500 dollars and go up from there. All the others Start at 1,000 dollars and go up from there if you can find them.
Ask a Golden owner you see even passing by where they got their Golden and also ask a vet in your area.
