According to what I read peanut butter jars with product code on the lid beginning with "2111" may be infected with Salmonella. Unfortunately I checked out and my peanut butter jars begin with that code. We are ok and don't show any symptons, but are we alread safe or can we develop the symptons later?

if you haven't developed them yet you are probably ok...get rid of the peanut butter...

What kind of peanut butter do you have? The salmonella is in Peter Pan and Great Values peanut butter that begins with 2111. If you have this peanut butter then I think that you should go to the doctor just in case. It's better to be safe than sorry. I hope that you are all okay!

Our two jars also had the 2111 code on the lids. The kids had been making sandwhiches from both jars for awhile now and nobody has gotten ill. I think the best thing to do though is to get rid of the stuff.
First it was spinach then lettuce and now peanut butter!!! When is this going to end??/!!!!

I just found out I had it too, It was half gone and my family hasn't had it in weeks, no one got sick and I guess more than 3/4 of the people who have been sick got better on their owm with out hospitalization. The symptoms are just like the flu Im sure as long as you didn't eat it all in one day your family is just fine, you can develop symptoms a few days afterwards but im sure you are ok. any sickness go to doc just to be sure, but even if you did get bad peanut butter nothing terrible will come from it.

We had the same Pb in our hm,TX, and we all had the "flu" or so we thought a few weeks ago. I through ours out but I am sending the lids, for our refund, and a letter to Con Agra, the Co. that makes it, to let them know what their product did to us and how they should of caught this much sooner.

I would not keep that jar, more than 300 cases of salmonella poisoning have been attributed to that lot#. Better safe than sorry

no do not eat anymore..throw the pb away immediately you will get sick vommiting,headaches,diarhea,etc syptoms will occur depending on the last time you ate it go to your local health department they checked mine here in fla it it tested positive..
