That Scientology is a completely insane belief. Yet if i start making fun of Christianity or Islam. I just crossed some magical line?

That's because most people recognize Scientology for what it is - a cult. Christianity & Islam are certainly cultish but they're very dangerous in their own right as religions. Richard Dawkins talked about this in The God Delusion, actually... people tend to get unecessarily forgiving and protective and "respectful" of things that don't deserve such special treatment. People walk on eggshells about religion but have no problem trashing on politics and personal style. It IS ridiculous.
But hey, at least we have free reign on Scientology (and there is PLENTY to recognize as insane with that group).

No, you didn't cross some magical line.
Scientology is goofy, but whats new under the sun? There are lots of strange things people believe to be true. The worst of them is that their own Creator doesn't exist.
I quess if you can't hear his voice, you could be of another "father", huh?

I think all religions are silly. I don't care about how silly the beliefs are, I only care about how the group acts.
The Quakers are Christians, I find their belief silly, but I respect and love their acts. Their beliefs, however silly I find God, lead to tolerance and accreptance.
But yeah....the Scientologists are more silly because they are more recent. Recent religions are more obvioiusly silly....older ones have tradition to back them up. People have forgotten how silly the origins were.

no, not really. chrstianity, islam, or any other religion is no special than the next. every religion has its outrageous beliefs and secrets.
