Well, who needs me to do their homework for GCSE - or A level RE then?
Here are some keywords, if you like to Google them:
Huisenburg's uncertainty principle. Occam's Razor, logical positivism, Bertrand Russell.
If I say to you: "Look, I know God exists because I have had direct experience of Him", then you can reply: "You are mad".
(Google Freud.) Just laugh. Mohammed is a superb example of this. As is Josiah Smith of Mormon fame. Have you seen the South Park film about the Mormons? Mohammed, Josiah Smith and Jesus cannot all be right. Two of them have made a huge mistake.
Or you can say "What do you understand by God?" There is a good illustration here of the elderly Vicar and the young curate. The young curate said that he had had a vision of the Blessed Virgin. "And what century was that then - Baroque?"
Personal experiences of God must remain - personal!
I do hope this helps. It is a really difficult question.
Good luck with your essay!

I would gladly illustrate one criticism of the argument from religious experience if I knew what the argument was.

One critisim mostly from socalled atheists is that religions have created lot of hatred and disharmony in the mankind. In fact when time elapses after the advent of each religion, the true spirit evaporates and religiousity takes over. The exerience about religion and religiousity is before everybody. Androcles could tame the lion with no physical means but a religious scholar advising Mr. Bush, the senior, turn the otherwise docile Iraqis into ferrocious suicidal bombers. When this selfstyled scholar toured Africa in sixties to conquer Africa for christainity through his spiritual power and scholarship, he could not stand the challenges of Ahmedi missionaries in the entire african block.Instead of confronting them and convincing them about the christainity, he had to cut a sorry figure and runaway. This is an example of religiousity, becuase the man could never have the courage to accept defeat/reality.Ahmedi missionaries challenged him that if he possesses an iota of faith, he should first prove it by demonstrating that he enjoys divine support whereas they claimed they have divine support and their prayers shall be accepted, if he accepts their challeng and will meet a hmble defeat.

the easy aspect the following is not any data both for or hostile to the existence of any non cloth entity can probably be discovered interior of a cloth reality. Any data that believers arise with is immediately suspect because it continuously mirrors their non secular conditioning. on the different hand none of this precludes the threat that a God would exist, besides the undeniable fact that the conflicted nature of the god of western custom makes a minimum of that version of God look really unlikely to me. Pardon? Would you like to re-phrase that question so that people can understand what you are asking? It sounds like a good question to answer, but I cannot quite figure it out!
