This seems to be the question of the night. I am on anti-depressants and your answer is YES!! You acutually feel like being around people again. This is when you find the right medication. You may still get depressed from other things, so be careful of asking for a medication increase. When the depression comes back, I may withdraw a little, but I do have family members that watch me, and get me out of my house. I also notice that when I am depressed, I make myself open up curtains in the house to let the sun in. This seems to help. I also pray to God, and go to the mall. You may even throw a get together again.

Yes, I feel anti-depressants did help me get out and be more sociable. Though I was taking mine for panic and agoraphobia. So once the meds kicked in, I wasn't so afraid to leave the house. I need to get back on them!

Anti depressants help you get back to who you really are and that's the good part . Sometimes the dosage may need adjustments ,but once the correct chemical balance is reached everything will be as it should .

I didn't-been on them for 15 yrs now and still not much change except i'm a little less stressed out.
Each individual responds differently though, take them and see, they can take months to make even the slightest change though.

a littlt bit but ehen i became more socila, i get really confussed for some stupid reason.
t tend to forget what i was going to say, i listened to like 5 people at once, and i never knew how to handle it.
i was always gaped out and lost in space.
but after awhile it eased down and im more social then before.
but i still have my moments of forgetting, gapping out and my mind some where else... lol
im taking wellibutrin and its ok

good luck

yes - although it was one of the lastthings to come back...but i was sociableprior to my depression - i guess if you aren't sociable prior it's different (lol) - it's hard too though, because even if your chemicals are back - the embarrasement and discomfort of feeling like you've been out of the loop for a while is still an issue

taking anti depressants nearly ruined my marriage and my relationship with my daughter.I was numb to all emotions and wasn`t close to anyone.I pushed my daughter away and my boyfriend(now my husband)said if i didn`t get off them it was over .

i am a lot better on them but they are not the miracle cure that you can sometimes wish for, you can still have good and bad days.
