Of course ... this religion looks to the self .. does not abuse the other religions and teaches one to reach a higher level from within not try and reach a higher level which is external and never seen ... ie God

How about asking also ¨would Mankind be better off if we all practised NO religion at all¨? The answer to your question could be found in the fact that the Human kind had been endowed with FREE WILL/POWER. No two people, even twins can always think the same and agree on all or anything anytime or all the time at all.

Well the economy might not thrive like it does but yes. It would be less commercial so people would have more energy to focus on what really matters. Since Buddism renounces the material world as the cause of desiring I think the world would look very different. We'd be able to regrow our forests and make the Earth beautiful again.
Of course if Christians really wanted to be like Jesus, who told his deciples to sell everything they had, it would be the same scenerio, but unfortunatly our Christian Americans choose not to follow that commandment from Jesus.

I'm really getting tired of the over-romantacism of eastern religions here.
Buddhism doesn't have the track record of violence or hatred that Xtians or Islam does, but if you go to Asian nations...you'll find that many of their temples are corrupt. Some hide fugitives for money. Some are involved in drug dealing. You can pay to become a Buddhist monk. There have been cases of armed extortion by temples as well.
All organizations and thus all religious organizations, are flawed....and can be corrupted by people.
Some are harder to corrupt...it's difficult to imagine someone killing in the name of the Quakers.

The moment that we all began to practice Buddhism, Buddhism would be altered into myriad sects, each claiming to be "True Buddhism."

It seems that culture influences people's values more than religion does. For instance, you could predict someone's opinion on abortion more accurately if you knew where they grew up or their political affiliation than you would if you knew their religion. There are so many ways of interpreting any religion, I think people have certain values because of their culture and family and then use their religion as an excuse for having those particular values.

Mankind would be better off accepting everyone for who they are regardless of religion. that is why most wars, the current one especailly, happen.

I think all which is written about the beauty of the soul is good for Mankind, but must don't forget that God is The Creator of our body and soul and Jesus Christ God is our Savior from the slavery of the sins.

No.
It works as a moral code and they practice what they preach better than christians but they believe in evolution and that involves souls and is totally unscientific. By which I mean - NOT REAL.
The world will be great when we're all atheists.

I like buddism, but they it does not suit me.
Ultimately the religion which suits a person would keep humanity in peace, not a compromise. If you are referring to islam and christianity...they are mostly accepted by people out of weakness to emtional push.
I like HInduism, its suits me.
