I'm sure it was a Canadian wine. May have been a cabernet franc. I bought it in Ontario at an LCBO. It was so good.

While it's not Canadian, Mumms makes an excellent sparkling red. I actually loved it so much I bought an entire case of it.

A lot of California wineries make sparkling red wines, but Italy and Australia are gaining in the wine markets. Sparkling wine is basically Champagne, because Champagne refers to the sparkling white wines that come from the Champagne region of France - everything else is just sparkling. i can help you here in bc we have a few .banrock station sparkling shiraz and seaview sprakling shiraz from australia. bc has baby duck
