My 22 and 1/2 yr old cat was treated by a veterinarian trained in acupuncture and Chinese medicine so she had a remedy of Chinese herbs which I added to her food twice a day.

I think your best bet would be to join the Yahoo group for CRF cats and talk to people who are dealing with this problem in their cats. You simply go to www.yahoogroups.com and put in a search for feline CRF. Then you request membership in the group and will get approval so that you can post questions and read about what others are doing to help their cats.

not sure of an alternative medicine but science hill cat for has areally good food make just for cats like yours, its call K>D> ask your vet about.

i dont know the exact herbal mixture, but you can safely use homepathic medicine on pets. we have a doctor in south africa that prepares the medicine, so it wont help me giving you his detials.
but any homeopath would be able to help.

i would try anything as long as the cat was not suffering. i would ask my vet to decide if she was suffering or not. Best of luck to you.
