Yes, I used to, fantastic sport but make sure that you get the proper training from a professional organization and stick to the rules. Don't get a "friend" to teach you.

Yes I am certified.
Do not get resort training. Go through a regular certification class. My friend went to a resort class in Mexico and ended up panicing under water and almost drowned.
It is essential to know your equipment and your limitations and then you will have an incredible experience under water, and so much fun to go to Cozumel or the south Pacific to dive.
