He will control with love; remember, he's coming pretending and disguised as Jesus Christ himself. He will come in prosperously and peacefully. It will be the biggest tent revival you ever did see; Just think: Satan comes disguised as Christ on the 6th trump;
the true Christ doesn't come back until the 7th trump. All those rapture believers will think this first "jesus" who comes on the scene will be here to rapture them to safety. But, actually, they will be going with Antichrist. The religious organizations of today will be falling all over each other to worship this fake.
Yeah, Antichrist will control the military and the Police, among lots of other stuff, But:
remember: In Rev9, the time was shortened from that 7yr period, down to a five month period. The manuscripts give you more insight to when this will be: It says that five month period will be during the "time of the locusts", which is when the insects swarm, being from May to September, probably not a coinsidence that both are exactly five months long.
Also, it is obviously from Passover to the Feast of Tabernacles. Very interesting study.

I guess it depends if you think of the antichrist as being a person, I often think its probably more of a spirit of hate and evil.
