Motorhome drivers are usually taking it easy and driving safely, so the odds of ever being stopped are slim in the first place.

Personally, I don't worry about it. I haul 6, 8, 10 or however many people I want to without giving it a second thought.

Even if I WERE stopped, I would simply tell some of the passengers to hide in the rear bedroom. What are the cops going to do, conduct a search? No. They're going to write the ticket and hand it to you through the window.

You need to check how many seats are officially listed on your V5 document. If it says 4 then that's all that can travel in it. Seems daft to seat 4 and sleep six though. If there's rear facing seats they might not legally need seatbelts.

If you only have 4 set belts you have only got 4 passenger seats so you are only allowed to carry 4 people .

You in the UK? If so, the law refers to the wearing of seatbelts "if fitted" or "if available", so you should legally be okay, though common sense would say otherwise.
