The Gospel is about communication, so I see no reason not to take advantage of a technology that facilitates communication in new and progressive ways.

Most likely NOT. I really thought I might do someone some good here, but not any more. Now it is more of a diversion.
Since I no longer live under the illusion that what I have to say is going to be helpful to some hungry soul, I guess I stay around because I've become addicted to it.
( Yes Krasus, there is more than just Christians here, and the rest of you would love it if we stayed off ! Yes ?)

Yes, because on this site there are more than just Christians here from all over the world and we are "called" by Jesus Christ himself as he stated in the last verses of the last chapter of the Gospel of Matthew.

No, none of you were "called" here. You make it sound like you're on a secret mission. You participate because A. You think it's fun or B. Because you think you are going to "spread the truth". More than likely a combination of the two.

As Christians, anywhere we can spread and share the word of God, we have been called to be. All we need to do is plant a few seeds, God will do the rest. Face it, where else have you had a chance to share with so many nonbelievers.

Paul said that we are to preach the gospel in season and out... I think that is how he expressed it....
And also that we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood.....
I know how easy it is to get upset or discouraged by some of the responses here. but the WORD OF GOD is the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT......and the eternal destiny of people is the MOST IMPORTANT reason why we are here in this world....
Can you imagine that God is actually TRUSTING us -- and not His angels - to reach the lost!!
It is an honour and a privilege and a responsibility for each and
every one of us to do everything we can - in every way that we can - to reach the lost and even if only ONE person responds to the mercy and love available through Jesus.
I have heard it said so many times that if each of us had been
the ONLY one to believe, Jesus would STILL have gone to the cross to die for us....He didn't just die for the whole world - He died for you...and He died for me....and for each and every person
who has yet to receive Him as Savior...and for those who will end
up rejecting Him outright....I know how hard it is to imagine....but
even if THEY don't want to hear about Jesus and the salvation He
died to give us, they do NOT have the RIGHT to impede us from being able to tell others....and our FREEDOM comes from God and not man, as some would like to think.....
In the o.t., Abraham interceded and pleaded with God for the people in sodom and gomorrah, even for the sake of ten....and not even ten could be found who wanted to turn from what they were doing.....and then there was Jonah who did not even WANT to go reach the people in Ninevah with the mercy of God because
of his personal animosity towards them....
But it is not about OUR feelings or thoughts -- it's about Jesus
and what HE did for each and everyone of us...and God will use the "silly" and "weak" things of this world to confound the wise....
........and that is just what we are to the world, along with a few other choice adjectives, no doubt....
We know that it is really satan trying to fight against God, which
was totally ridiculous even BEFORE he was defeated.
His days are numbered and he knows it..... ;-)
And of course in Romans, chapter ten, where Paul writes how shall they call on Him in whom they have not heard.....
Also read Acts chapter four....verses 23-31...as well as Ez.33. about the Watchman....We can warn the lost about what is coming upon them, but if they reject it, it is THEIR responsibility!!
John 18:37 ---
That is one of my favourite passages -- but then John's gospel is absolutely my favourite of the gospel accounts... :-)
It just says it ALL!!! :-)
BLESS YOU ALL, my brothers and sisters in Y'shua!!!! (Jesus)
Love always..... :-)

Jesus' last command to his followers was to "go and make disciples of people of all the nations." (Matt. 28:19, 20) The first-century Christians complied with those orders. They preached wherever there were people. At their home. At the marketplace.
There are people who visit Yahoo Answers who honestly want to know more about the Bible. So Christians on Yahoo Answers are here to help such truth seekers.

Yes... it is a way of sharing the Gospel - covenient and hopefully effective - has to covered with prayer.
It is bringing a little bit of church to them, all we need are praise songs.
But we have to be responsible and articulate - the anger or sarcasm can kill the message - God will do the rest.

Yes, because is allows Christians to babble on about their own hippocracy, showing everyone that the Christian metaphor is absurd.
