Spoonerism is a play on words in which corresponding consonants, vowels or morphemes are switched and is named after Reverend William Archibald Spooner(1844-1930), Warden of New Colege of Oxford. An example is- if you ask your girlfriend -Wil you make tea? and instead you say-Will you take me? she may say yes and you are trapped.
