I'm planning on bringing a fruit basket and flowers. Blooming flowers are supposed to be good luck or represent prosperity. Also bring money for the kids if there will be any. maybe just your presense being there is good enough. but fruits are a good idea. usually grapes, apples, oranges. and you could even go to an asian supermarket and see that they sell many things for new years, so you can buy candy, crackers, or mini finger food in little red boxes. (=

I know that they give out red envelopes with money in it for good luck. Maybe you can do that?
