I don't know about saturday, but on Sundays Kate's Joint, a vegetarian resturant on Ave. B at 4th St. has brunch. Don't let the "vegetarian" scare you, while they don't serve real bacon or sausage, they do serve real eggs. You can get brunch with a screwdriver or a bloody mary for around $10 a person. The portions are good sized and the food is great.

Try the Barking Dog. There are a couple of locations in the city, one being in the upper east side. One thing to note is that they don't accept credit cards.

Something simple in downtown Brooklyn JUNIOR'S, they got the best cheesecake its in Flushing were all the stores are. In the city i would go to Friday's its simple and the mozz sticks are good.
