For the last couple of years or so I have either bleached my hair or dyed it all black. Now I'm bored of that and I tried to buy some bright colours, pillar box red and orange but I can't find any in Manchester! I can find vivid colours but they are these stupid wash in wash outs, I want a permanent dye. Any ideas which shops will sell them?

The P of D: Cool! email me! I've tried Afflecks but it seems to be gels that wash out or semi permanents that aren't as bright as the pic on the cover.

Answer Queen: That sounds just what I need. I need to strip the black out first really but I can't afford to get it done by a hairdresser. Need to do it myself.

I'd say manicpanic.com or a local beauty store, and I'm not positive I think you can order offline of sallybeauty.com They all have colorufl hair dye I would recommend manic panic, don't get beyond the zone, it fades really quick, but keep in mind they're all going to be semi permanent so you will have to redo them every 8 days or so.

Some of the best vivid colours I have ever used on my clients come from the Magma range. It can even lift black hair to pillar box red. Only in foils or by the cap as it must not be used on the scalp, but you could have loads of foils. Find a salon or mobile hairdresser in your area who uses it or let me know if you are ever in Kent! Any home based products are not strong enough due to regulations and thats why you usually get a better result from a professional.
