You probably have something stuck in your teeth. I get that sometimes when I eat popcorn. I just make sure I floss really well and it goes away. Flossing is really important. If it doesn't go away in a day or so definitely call your dentist.

It's not something that can be diagnosed here but when swelling and pain is involved it usually means there is an infection present. This could be something as small as some foreign particle of food under the gum, something a little more serious as a possible perio abscess or something more serious as an abscessed tooth. Any of these need to be addressed immediately for pain relief and treatment. Call your dentist he will probably want to see you today and get you on an antibiotic and pain medication. The swelling has to be expressed or given an access opening to drain from to reduce it and give you some relief. Most of the pain is caused from the swelling of the tissue. Your dentist will be able to help you. They take care of these type problems on the weekend all the time so don't hesitate to call him. In the mean time use warm salt water rinses, as warm as you can stand it and take about 800 mg of Advil or Motrin adult dose, reduce this if you are younger. I'm sorry I couldn't give you an instant cure but there is no other solution to alleviate your condition right now except this. Good luck and call your dentist.

You have an abscess and that is quite serious. You have to find out why. Chances are you have a bad infection in the nerve of one of your teeth (maybe it's dying) and it's become abscessed now and it will spread and can become quite serious, even fatal. You can't let it go unchecked.
I suggest rinsing in salt water (1 tspn/warm glass) a few times a day but it won't go away. You have to resolve the cause.
The other thing it MIGHT be is if you got something wedged up between your gum and teeth. Eg. popcorn is a horrible thing to eat as the kernals can shove up between your gum/teeth and cause an infection. If something is there your dentist will have to remove it and maybe you will need antibiotics as well.

You may have a serious dental problem. If they are bleeding when you brush you need to see a dentist immediately if you don't want to lose your teeth. This could be something stuck under the gum, something as benign as a fingernail, if you can stand it feel around the area and see if anything is in there irritating the gum. Cleanse the mouth with warm salt water-that will heal and help with the pain.

Sounds like you have a recession on your gums. This makes it "impossible to eat" I happened to me, and I went got an exam, dental clean up, xrays. In addition I got "FLOURIDE TREATMENT" this was the best. The pain went away after maybe two weeks. See your dentist, this should set you back about $ 260.00 with no insurance.

Sounds like a canker. Go to the pharmacy & buy some medication of freeze it. If your face starts to swell & your tooth throb it's probably an abcess & you need to see a dentist right away for that, but try the canker medication first - Orajel is one of the brand names.

there are number of reasons for swollen gums it is better to show to a dentist & get the needfull done, most of the time it is not serious but dentist evaluation is must.
meanwhile please do warm salt water gargel if you are not hypertensive(high bp).
again advice as a dentist is to leave the task of problem solving to the professional rather than you trying to fix it. thank you.
