on the last lap do you feel Ford, Chevy and Chrysler has left firm instructions to "take them out" aka a Tony Stewart?

Cool, haven't seen the "RATFINK" since the 60's.
If they wanted someone to take 'em out the would have hired Jimmy Spencer.

I think maybe all you fans of racing should calm down a little and realize that Toyota is here to stay and its good for your sport. As an IRL guy myself, I envy you guys having good manufacturer competition. IRL has Honda, yeah thats right Honda nothing else so to say. I dont think any team or manufacturer has instructions to knock out a Toyota, and if it happens on the last lap and they are in the lead whoever did it will have hell to pay. Nascar will come down hard and heavy, because if they dont they wont be answering to team owners anymore they will be answering to the people who will start protesting outside of races. Oh well cant wait for IRL season to start up.

Hope Stewart wins it.

Trust me, wont be an issue. The Toyota's are so off pace it's not even funny. But, as far as having "firm instructions". No. The manufacturers won't say that, but individual teams as someone else said, yeah I think they would, but thats with anyone in 2nd or 3rd. And for the record, I think Tony Stewart would be the first to do it, lol.

Thanks for the fre history lesson buddy!! Like we didnt know that? No one is an ignorant "redneck". You're ignorant for the reason of giving us that little piece of information. Go self-loathe some more. I hate people like you. Also, if I'm such a redneck, why do I own more cars than you probably have your whole life, and live in a house where my master bedroom is the size of your kitchen, dining room, and living room? Don't bash people you don't know buddy.

Drivers don't see a different brand car as a "rival". When someone is in front of them, they think of the driver as the rival. It's not like they are racing each other and then all the sudden, "oh that guy is in a Chevy, let me spin him"... Or "oh, that guy is in a Dodge, let me wreck him..." Drivers don't really care, they just want to win. Thats all it ever comes down to, is what team worked the hardest and stayed out of trouble all day, then that team will have a great shot at the win.

It's the marketing people that build up the manufactures battles, drivers could give a sh*t less what name brand is on the car... They just want to race.

I would say the odds of that are very slim. However, given that we are at Daytona and you can't do anything there without drafting help, I would predict that a lone Toyota up front on the last lap would be freight trained by whoever was behind him be they Ford, Chebby, or Dodge.

I wouldn't be too concerned here. Toy's have been slow all week and don't think they have to guts under the hoods to run with the big boy's. Anyway, I don't beleive anyone would take anyone else out on the last lap and get by with it. Nascar has really cracked down on these good old boys.

I sure hope not, but I think people might try it.

I also think that considering the quality of the drivers they're starting with, that would be a damn miracle.

There's a New York Times article on the controversy today, and how NASCAR fans are a bunch of bigots because of it. *sighs* *rolls eyes to heaven*

If NASCAR is such an American sport, why do people like Chevy's, Ford, and Dodge. They're barely even built an America anymore. Unless we now own Mexico and Canada and they forgot to teach that in History class. But whatever, just go on being ignorant rednecks.
