What state do you live in? In many states, the age of consent is 17, so they could legally have sex if they wanted (letalone eat pizza)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_North_America#United_States
can tell you what the age of consent is in your State. Of course, Wikipedia is not always accurate, so you can post your state here or look at your state's statutes to be sure.
But if it is 17 or younger, the only real concerns are ethical, and, as you pointed out, 'ickiness'.
If the age of consent in your state is 18, the only statutory prohibitions are sexual. Technically, they can 'date' but there are categories of sexual activities they cannot do (usually those things that have 'sex' in the name). Almost all will have molestation laws prohibiting a wider host of behaviors, but for those laws the maximum age may be lower, such as 13.
Once you tell us your state, I can then discuss the 'how they know' - which basically amounts to evidentiary requirements. The basic rule of thumb is that someone has to report them, and the rules of proof go on from there.

Keep peace with your roomate...don't stir the pot on this one. Its not against the law to do anything thats not involving sexual activities... If you can't restrain yourself from advising her to the law..I would go to this website and print out information for her to read...just give it to her in a nice way and say I ran across this article and I was not aware how strick the laws were and what you can happen to a person. I know in CA if you are date someone that is a minor and there are over 3 years difference in age its can be jail terms...so get something to alert her but tell her you don't mean to barge into her personal busines but you found this info shocking. http://www.sexlaws.org/statrape.html

There are no longer any actual vampires. all of us love issues like Buffy and Twilight, for particular, yet there are no longer any actual VAMPIRES of the style you're describing. the closest you get is a vampire bat, that's a small creature that sucks the blood of livestock in Africa. It by no ability reaches human length, and whether it did, it does not look like this guy. even though, once you're paranoid approximately this, it may be ultimate to pass away, to proportion with somebody else. For god's sake do no longer attempt and fasten the situation with a stake - you will finally end up being sentenced to existence or worse.

It seems legal. As as long they are both consenting adults (ahem) and that they truly like each other, better hold that tongue behind those teeth's because your roomie will get defensive if you say something against the relationship. If she tells you he bumps ugly good, than that's your great indication that they did have sex. Otherwise, assumption will lead to errors.
cheers
