I have a 7 month old kitten.. I was wondering approximately how much should she weigh. She is 9-10 lbs. Physically she looks good, except for the kitty tummy. And here’s my dilemma. I also have two other older cats (on the brink of elderly) living in the house. The two are allowed to eat at free will and need to have their food on the floor. (they don’t get that much) My kitten likes to munch on their food, but I still feel like she should be getting at least some of her kitten food for the protein. So really how much should a 7 month old kitten weigh?

Kittens usually slow their growth when they are 6 months old. That should be the time that you switch them over to adult cat food. She is a good weight for her age. My 5 month old kitty is 6.5 lbs and the vet said that he is perfectly heathly and at a good weight.

The kitten can start having adult food now. Mix the kitten food with the other cats food & they can all have a burst of energy for a couple of day. The kitten food will not harm the older cats for the few days they'll be having it.

As far as weight is concerned it really doesn't matter unless she is terribly overweight & the vet could tell you that.

She's on track weight wise but the "kitten tummy" is a sign of worms. So, start off my worming her. Then get her fixed (because she'll live longer, be less of a pain and it's the right thing to do). What you can do is get a box and cut a whole that only she can fit through. Put her kitten food and a treat or two in there. Big cats can't get it. Good luck!

i think it should weigh a little bit more, but try buying a differant type of food if it is not eating that much. maybe keep track of how many times a day it is eating and how much, then in a week or so...ask there vet if that is how much they should be eating. hope it hepls.peace!
