If you have trouble finding the books of the bible, take your bible to a store where they have the tabs you can put at the beginning of each book. it will help you get to know what books are where in the bible. Psalms is in the old testament... bout 1/2 way thru the bible. There is a page in the beginning of the bible that will give you the order of the books as well, to help you find things easier!

Well, not all Bibles have the same number of pages, due to printing size, etc. My suggestion is: divide your Bible in half, then open it. You should be in Psalms. Then page over until you find the 23rd Psalm.

There are different versions of the NIV depending on the size of the bible, the publishers, and how big or small the font is.

This is a stupid question.

It will depend on the typeset (font) your bible is printed in. Also if it is a devotional or study bible it will have extra material in it.

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not in want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
