Websites for heater core replacement:

http://www.replacem.org/how-to-replace-heater-core-nissan.html
- it's for a 1991 Nissan Maxima, but most of the instructions may apply to the 1990 300ZX

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_replace_the_heater_core_on_a_1995_Nissan_240SX
- again, not specifically for the 300ZX, but similar

http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi
- the 300ZX repair manual; it provides schematics with the position of the heater core and surrounding parts, but I haven't found specific instructions on replacing it

Easy is only if you have done several heater cores on caddys. Experenced mechanics will prefer not to do a heater core. They are a pain, plastic pieces tend to break on the way to the heater core removal. These parts then need to be repaired or ordered causeing down time, to shop, and mechanic. A good shop can print a estimate that will show you labor in hours. Double or triple these hours for yourself plus additional tools and bandaids may be required. the estimate of hours will reflect if job is easy or not.........

Ok your in for several days of hard work. The first time you do this job it is really daunting. The steering coloum and instrument panel has to be removed and the passengers side floor board pulled out. Remove the under dash trims and glove box and ac duct work you can see left and right outside of dash ventilator trims. Those that pass air into the doors. Remove the seats for more room unbolt the consol and remove it to the rear of the car pull both door opening trims and left and right kick panels/fuse box cover remove the radio surround hidden screws remove the radio unplug the BOSE center speaker. remove the defroster grill and 10mm bolts behind it. take the 4 12mm bolts dash to center consol brackets out and two 12mm bolts out on both sides of the dash assembly. Note there are wiring harness conectors on each side and you may have to remove the fuse box to get to the door harness conector and dash connectors. Note each heater box actuator has to be unplugged also. Remove the dash as an assembly. Once the dash and dash frame is out you can now see the heater box. Recycle the Freon drain the coolant. Now unbolt the heater box. Three seperate parts from right to left 1 blower case and fresh air intake 2 evaperator A/C case and 3 heater box is right in the center and remove the heater hoses center behind the motor & ac hoses behind the battery and buy new heater hoses too! I charge BIG MONEY to do this operation. 6.0 hours or more depending on how much custom car audio I have to cut and splice. I reccomend professional Nissan Dealership Technician to do your heater core. Please allow two to three days to get the parts and complete the whole job.

I don't know of any websites, but why not just go buy a Chilton Manual for your vehicle. They are relatively inexpensive, usually around $30 and you should be able to pick one up at your local automotive center. And they are easy to follow with step by step instructions!

I can email them to you if you will just send me your email address, and car specs, I will need the year make model, engine and transmission type, I may also need to know if it's turbo or not.
I can tell you now though that this will probably be a 6-10 hour job.

No websites, but a Chilton's or Haynes manual is only about $10. It will come in handy later, too. You can get them at any auto parts store.
