This is what works for me.
Stick to a 1,200 calorie food intake diet
Burn 3,600 Calories + 1,200 Food intake calories Per Day
You buy a calorie counting watch. Wear it everyday so you can see how many calories you are burning and stay busy.
When you can see it in numbers the amount you are burning..if you come close you really will get up and do some exercise around the house to finish and to get to your total.
I went from 165 to 127 with this method.
I also stuck to the Lean Cuisine Meals. They have anywhere form 180 to 380 calories per box. Plus Fruit and raw veggies ontop of it. Water, Gatorade, Orange Juice and Milk.
One a day makes a daily vitamin now called All Day Energy..It gives you the same energy kick as Red Bull and its sooo much cheaper than spending almost $2.00 everyday for the red bull.
I also bought a bike stationary stand. Its cheaper than a stationary bike. You can lock your own outdoor bike into it and spin while watching tv or a movie. And if it warms up out side, I just pop it off the stand and take my bike outside.
Try also not watching so much tv..its like sleeping when you do..Instead..Turn the radio on or some music much more than you do now..Singing, and bouncing to the music will get you started..soon you will find yourself cleaning your house and picking up and not even realise it.
I also hear there is a great new aerobic in home course you can take called Zumba. Lots of fun.
It really doesn't take that much to burn those calories in a day. You just have to get up and move about all day. And you know what..if you burn those calories everyday total...You will sleep so much better.
Good Luck

Before I injured my knee, I was overweight. There were two exercises I did to help me lose weight. I did squats and I ran a for 30 minutes, 5 days a week. I didn't start off running either I started slow I walked for 5 minutes and ran for 2 minutes I did this until I was running more than walking. I also worked out in the morning, it worked wonders for my energy level throughout the day.
I didn't really change my eating a habits all that much, because I really didn't eat a whole lot. I did cut down sweets a little but I didn't cut anything completely out of my diet.
I hope this helps you. Good luck.

Swimming is good and running and also apparently running up the stairs for 15 minutes burns more calories than anything else for 15 minutes! Wow.
