If your scales are in lbs, then you will have ozs marked on it. Every little line = 1 oz.

1 oz x 16 makes a pound so if your scales goes in lines to each pound you should have 16 and you are looking to weigh out up to the first 4 for 4 onces ,

40z is quarter of a pound if you can't get into oz on the scale you could multipy everything by 4 and make 4 cakes.

thats means 1lb lb means 1 pound of marg if the recipe had 2 eggs make it with 8 eggs etc
