I had a c-section on 12/22/06 and mine is still a little tender at times...after the first week I felt 100% better, with no pain meds...but every now and again it will bother me..I'm wondering if maybe it has to do with being too active, etc. I noticed it when I moved my furniture around, cleaned too much etc... Hope this helps.

I've had two c-secs with the last one being 2 yrs ago. For about 2 months it comes and goes. I still get a "stitch" in it every once in a while if I move just the wrong way and it will hurt for a few days. Mostly when I'm turning around in bed. Keep it clean with alcohol on a cotton ball once or twice a day and when you are twisting that section of your body just be careful of how fast you turn and you should be just fine. Try a heating pad on low wrapped in a thin towel for about 10-15 mins and that should help ease it some. Just don't forget it was major surgery and each time is different. BTW, Ibuprofen is great for pain, but takes a good 12-24 for you to feel great relief.

I have had 3 c-sections. First one was not planned. The second and third were scheduled because I had the first. My sister has had 2 and is about to have another in April. I had all three of my at 3 different hospitals with 3 different doctors. Just make sure before they cut that you don't feel anything. The first two no complications. The epidural kicked in and I didn't feel a thing. I did though throw up with my first two. If you feel any slight sickness let them know right away. They can give you something to make you feel better. With the third my epidural didn't kick in all the way so they gave me more. They gave me a little too much that I couldn't feel myself breathe. So I passed out. After the c-section the healing process took time. Just make sure you move when the nurses tell you to. It may be sore at first but if you don't move or get up to walk, it will hurt even more when you finally get around to doing it. My sister had the gestational diabetes on her first child and on this one. She had no big differences from me just a little more swelling. Good Luck and remember it is all worth it.

I have had 2 C-sections. Working on my 3rd. some time around July 21st . I have found that my scar hurts of and on all the time. I have also found that some things I do makes it hurt bad. As long as it doesn't look puffy or red then I don't think you have anything to worrie about. However if it starts hurting very bad I would call your Dr., But more than not the Dr. will tell you it is scar tissue. Not to much you can do about that.

I would definitely have your doctor look at it. I had a laparoscopy for endometriosis a couple of years ago, and I noticed pain after the surgery that gradually intensified. Also, it was oozing and didn't really smell like flowers. Most OB's only do c-sections and laparoscopies, so if the pain persists and they tell you that it's not an infection, get a second opinion from another doctor (NOT an OB).
Don't get me wrong - OB's are great docs - but surgery isn't their specialty. I ended up with a staph infection (also not the doc's fault) that went undiagnosed by my OB for a long while since they rarely see infections from surgery, and by that point things were much more difficult to treat! If you take care of things early, all you wil most likely need is an oral antibiotic, most likely an affordable quinolone like generic Cipro.

It's part of the healing process... the nerves are coming back, and you may have more scar tissue this time.
I had my c-section May 5, 2006 and ended up with an infection at day 9, and was hospitalized for a week. Now that it has healed... it is still red (but fading), lots of scar tissue, and I have feeling back again.

Yes i believe this is totally normal, I had a c-section 16 yrs ago with my daughter and every once in a while i will still have little twinges of pain where the scar is. Just take it easy and try not to do too much too soon. Congratulations on your new baby.

I had the same thing the pain was gone then one day it hurt again.. I had an infection below the subq layer of skin. If the area is red swollen and warm to touch and the pain doesnt stop then you need to see your physician.
If the pain disappears then you may have over exerted yourself the day before.
