I filled my income tax 4 weeks ago online, they were supposed to deposit my refund on Feb 2,07 nope not there, now they are saying they are just reviewing it, and Im supposed to get a letter saying if they are going to release it or need additional info, if they release it it will be 2-4 weeks!!!! When I call the IRS I get a different answer. Has anyone gotten a letter? What does it mean? Why do they have my return already for 4 weeks and no answers??? Has anyone been through this???? The worst is not knowing whats going on, everyone I know has theres already.

Obviously they've found something that they question. If they can answer the question themselves, they will release your return, if not then you shall get a letter requesting more information. When dealing with the IRS, expect that they will not tell you much, as they want to keep you off balance. Just wait it out.

Relax, you are dealing with the government. Expect it to take longer than you want. After all, this is the busiest time of the year fro them. They are processing a return for every tax payer in country.
