He's been vomitting many times a day and has not been eating. After the 2nd day, he started drinking water so that's a partial sigh of relief. However, since he hasn't been taking in any food, he's just been vomitting saliva.

He's been to the vet and they don't know what's wrong. They gave him a jab and some medication but it doesn't seem to be working.

Please... Could any of you suggest a reason or a remedy? My cat's so weak now... I'm afraid he won't make it if he doesn't start eating soon and getting better.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much...

Extra info... The problem is, I live in Asia and it is the Chinese New Year period here. It'll be public holidays for another 3 days yet... I don't think I can find another vet because they won't be open.

You must try to contact a vet to help your cat. I do hope some professional will be there to help your cat.

Can you get human baby food there? If you can get some chicken or turkey meat that has absolutely NO onion or garlic powder you might be able to get him to eat or finger feed him yourself. Read the label on the food very carefully and do not use it if it has the onion or garlic which would be very detrimental to his health. You can also try a little ground chicken sauteed in a small amount of butter if you cannot find the baby food. Beef is harder on some cats stomachs so use chicken or turkey. He will only get worse if he does not eat at all. He does not have to eat a lot - four or five fingers-full in a day will be sufficient to tide him over.

Good luck. It seems these emergencies always arise when the vets are unavailable and you must do your best for your cat.

It could be many things, and frankly I'd never go back to that Vet again.
One time one of my cats got sick and the Vet wasn't sure what was wrong, but he had the common sense to keep the cat in the animal hospital until he could determin what the problem was.

I know you say that it's a Holiday period there, but if you call another Vet they should have a 24 hour a day answering service were you'll be able to leave a message and they will return your call, Holiday or not.

Good luck, I hope kitty feels better soon.

You're describing an extremely sick cat. She needs immediate help, if you're not going to get it for her then take her to the shelter where they can make the decision about putting her down or having their volunteer vet treat her. If you leave the cat to die on her own it's going to cause her a lot of pain and agony. This NEEDS to be treated, even if you're poor. Talk to the vet about payment plans or use a charge card. If you don't, I suspect your cat will be dead in two days, if not sooner.

The same thing happened to my cat. She stopped eating, she wouldn't drink, and was vomitting. I took her to the vet & they kept her for 3 days ($900!!!). When I called the 3rd day they still couldn't give me any solid information as to what was wrong. So I picked her up. They sent her home with 3 different kinds of PILLS that she never could keep down!

I took her to another vet (my new vet whom I love...he's awesome!!!). I was fully expected for them to just give me the worst info & tell me that I had to have her put to sleep (She was getting very old...). They ran every test in the book & never found a thing wrong with her. He said sometimes old cats just stop eating. They had her hooked up to fluids & nutrients, so she wasn't just starving to death. They sent her home with a feeding tube after 10 DAYS (only a $300 vet bill). She ended up taking the tube out herself & started nibbling at wet food and drinking water. She lived for about another month, but remember she was really old!!!

I suggest you take your kitty to another vet. You never know what they might could so for her/him.

You should see another vet. Meanwhile try to give your cat a little yogurt or really soft cheese. If he still is not willing to eat try to give him the yogurt with your finger. Put it in front of his nose and probably he will start to lick it. That really helped my cat when he was thrown from the 7th floor by my mean neighbor and he wouldn't eat for a week.

try a hairball remedy some time cats can get blockages that will not let them keep any food down, it as no place to go but up. and you need to find another vet that will invest a little time in treating your pet.

Find another vet immediately. He cannot go on much longer without eating. He has to be miserable.
