My 9 week old kitten started hissing repeatedly yesterday randomly. Sometimes he is asleep and he wakes up hissing and it lasts about 15-30 seconds and he loses control of his bladder. It happens sometimes when he is just sitting there as well. He is not scared and when it is over he wants to be held. I worry that he may be having seizures. He never hisses and is the sweetest cat in the world.

The loss of bladder control is very worrisome.
Take the kitten to the Vet ASAP!

Good luck, I hope kitty feels better soon.

He could be. The loss of bladder control is a big sign of seizure activity. One of my cats has seizures, he gets stiff and has seizure shakes and pees. Afterwards all he wants is to eat and be pet. They happen most often when the cat is just going into or coming out of sleep, something to do with brain activity levels at certain stages of sleep. Call your vet and see if they want to do a lab work-up or exam on your kitty. Seizure and epilepsy in cats is not really common, and seizures can sometimes be caused by toxic materials your cat may have gotten into. Good luck, and know if it is epilepsy there is medication he can take to help.

It sounds like it could be a seizure. The loss of bladder control is a major indicator.
Contact your vet and have the kitten checked out.

By now if you can't afford a vet it would have better luck in the shelter because they would be able to provide it with medical care I usually don't suggest shelters but this kitten is in critical condition if you want to keep it you can always adopt it from the shelter when it's healthy and ready for a home

Well if it is an abnormal behavior..then you should get him checked by the vet.

He may have a bladder infection, which is causing him pain....could be why he is hissing and losing bladder control.

Poor little kitty, he's so young, perhaps he wasn't old enough to leave his Mom, and he may be seeing spirits, small children see spirits, why not kitty's. He needs to be held and feel secure.

It could be something he will grow out of. He is very young, and needs to still be nursing or else he could die. You can try feeding him half goats milk half water from a bottle. Good luck.
