Well its started with my right ear and then after a few months it got to the left ear. They its so much I have small amounts of puss come out of them every now and then. My left ear had blead a little from all the scratching. They itch the most at night when I'm usleep. My wax is mixed with puss and it builds up and I'm embarassed that people can see all that junk in my ears. What can I use to stop it? Is a specialist needed for my problem? Is there an over the counter medication I can take?

You need to see the doctor to have the wax/debris removed and to get a prescription for drops that will kill the bacteria/fungus that is causing the problem. Your primary doctor may do this, but many prefer sending you to the otologist (ear specialist) who has the experience and equipment to assess and treat the problem appropriately.

DO NOT USE COTTON SWABS! You will only continue to irritate the thin skin in the canal walls so the infection will continue to spread, and you will be pushing everything deeper into your ear. Trust me - the longer you wait, the worse it will get, and the longer it will take to treat it fully. You will feel SO much better once you have it taken care of!

trying putting a few drops of peroxide in your ear. Tilt your head drop it in let it sit for a few minutes, use a paper towel hold it over your ear and tilt your head the other way to let it drain. Do it to the other ear if the need be repeat. My son use to get ear infections all the time and this was a solution the doctor told me to do. He also said it is a good thing to do every month or so. It loosens the ear wax and helps prevent infections. It works very well.
