Keep it simple. Invite close friends and family and have a camera. Be ready for that first piece of cake. Remember kids this age still get over stimulated easily and need sleep. Plan around nap time and make it her day. I know as a parent sometimes we forget who the party is really for.

For a first birthday, I would do it at home or maybe at a park if it isn't cold where you live. My sister had her twin girls first birthday at a place called My Gym. It's a play place for babies. It went over well, but it was pretty pricey. I want to say the party was about $200 plus she had to supply the food, cake, decorations, drinks, cups, plates, and party favors. I would just stick to the house if I was you. Maybe go to Chuck E Cheese when she is 2,3, or even 4. She will be able to enjoy it a lot more at that age. Good luck.

There is no 'Bonding' experience more important in the growth of child than that 'Bonding' which happens at HOME. Think about it...ask your child's doctor, you'll see what I'm talking about.
PS: I've raised seven children at home, all grown up now with kids of their own. And I'm constantly reminded by these "children" about their birthday celebrations at home....not at Chucky Cheese or the few celebrated at such places. "Be it ever so humble there is no place home".

I have to agree with the majority. My daughter just had her first birthday in July, and we had it at my Mom's home. We had family and friends come over. We actually had quite a few people, and I wish we would have cut the list down. It's so nice and intimate at home. Plus, if you're doing a cake and letting her go at it, it'll be nice to be where a bathtub is. It's going to be so much fun for you!

Ditch the Chucky Cheese idea...she is wayyyy to young for that, and it costs a fortune....At 1, just have a few friends, family over and have cake and a few presents....There will be time enough for the blowout party!!!!!

for their first birthday, the best place to have a party is at your home and invite close relatives and friends that your child knows really well so she wont get scared at new faces...as for decorating put up some balloons and maybe some streamers and use some charactor plates...another idea that i did for my sons first birthday was made one big cake for everyone and a really little cake for him about the size of my palm in the shape of winnie the pooh and decorated to look like pooh...that way you can give your child that cake and he/she can just dig into it and everyone else wont have to worry about baby drool or finger prints in their slice of cake...my son loved it...but most of all just keep it simple and have fun! hope this helps!

remember that one year olds will get overwhelmed, try not to get her out of her routine
a party at home after her nap time or in the morning before her lunch.. family and grandparents and cousins...
with the people theballoons, gifts and the treats to eat.. that is plenty for a 1 year old
make it a theme party if you want.. princess or something to do with a favorite toy... maybe a teddy bear party

nicely, to be truthful, there is perchance no longer any thank you to repair Twilight in to a 4 year olds birthday social gathering without it being irrelevant for her age. that's what Twilight is, meant for youthful adults. I advise, perchance you've like a dress party or some thing for her, yet i think of it may be very confusing to have a Twilight party which would be appropriate on your daughter. purely my opinion.

Do it at home because she's going to cry and fall asleep.
